    What Would Karl Do?

Karl Lagerfeld is many things: Chanel and Fendi's creative director, a skinny black jeans aficionado and—above all—someone who's never hesitated to speak his mind. A new book released Tuesday titled The World According to Karl brings us 176 pages of the 80-year-old's outrageous philosophies, such as:

"I like everything to be washable, myself included."

"I didn't go on this diet for people to paw me … I wanted to be a good coat hanger."

"Jogging pants are a sign of defeat. You've lost control of your life, so you go out in jogging pants."

    Beware of Purse Germs

If you've been putting off getting your handbag laundered (or never realized you should), this will give you some extra motivation.

According to Daily Mail, researchers found traces of E. coli, Streptococcus and even traces of (gross alert) feces after testing women's handbags, gym bags and laptop cases. Contact with the strains could lead to food poisoning, pneumonia or bacterial meningitis.

Just something to think about the next time you reach for a stray piece of gum at the bottom of your purse—ewww.
