Burgundy Lids2 of 9
The Look: From rusted copper at Andrew Gn to metallic russet at Gucci, maroon offers a new way to amp up eyes. "It’s a magical color," says Estée Lauder creative makeup director Tom Pecheux, who offset the shade with a swipe of ice blue at Max Mara. "Maroon makes irises flash like crazy."

For reddish lids that look chic, not allergy ridden, apply eye shadow to the whole lid except just below the brow, then finish with black mascara.
SHOP NOW: Kevyn Aucoin The Loose Shimmer shadow in Amethyst, $29, nordstrom.com; Clé de Peau Beauté satin eye color in 120, $45, barneys.com; Chanel Illusion d’Ombre eye Shadow in Ébloui, $36, chanel.com
Rosy Glow4 of 9
The Look: After several seasons of matte skin, fall runways were flush with soft, pink cheeks. "It’s a natural look that conveys confidence," says Pecheux, who used cream blusher backstage at Moschino.

Placement is key. "For that 'British rosy cheek,' go for the apple," Pecheux says. "If you want to be a little less girlish and a bit more womanly, place color slightly lower."
The Deep V6 of 9
The Look: Move over, half-moon manicure. Backstage at Prabal Gurung, nail guru Jin Soon Choi painted skinny gunmetal triangles on top of olive polish for an instant nail-lengthening effect. "Even short nails look long," Choi says.

"You don’t need any tools!" Choi says. Simply draw a "left-side diagonal and then a right-side diagonal" with your polish's brush. For laserlike precision, try using a stencil.
SHOP NOW: Essie nail color in Bordeaux and Blanc, $8, target.com; Jin Soon nail polish in Audacity and Tulle, $18, sephora.com; Sally Hansen complete salon manicure in Coat of Arms and Loden Green, $8, sallyhansen.com
Cat Eyes8 of 9
The Look: Last season's feline flick was super precise, but a messier cat eye feels fresh for fall. "It's not supposed to look perfect," says P&G global creative director Pat McGrath, who chose major liner (often in lieu of shadow) for more than a half-dozen shows.

The look is deceptively easy to execute: Color your whole lid with eyeliner, McGrath says. Then clean up any rogue pigment with a makeup-remover-soaked cotton swab. "You can allow for mistakes."
SHOP NOW: Covergirl LineExact liquid liner in Very Black, $6, target.com; Napoleon Perdis neo noir liquid liner in Black, $20, ulta.com; Maybelline New York eye studio master duo in Black Lacquer, $8, amazon.com
