Taylor Momsen, or Little J as we still like to call her, is having quite the season booking ad campaigns. First, it was announced that she (not Lourdes) is the face of Madonna's new line for Macy's. Now comes news that she will star in ads for an as-yet unnamed Galliano fragrance.
And we're sure she's making a pretty penny for both gigs. While John Galliano is certainly an eccentric designer, Macy's is about as mainstream as you get — even if Madonna is behind the line. This seems very out of place with the anti-establishment teen that Taylor's been behaving like all summer long. It's like she's been on a campaign against pretty.
Taylors's touring with her band, dressing more Courtney Love than Madge (even in her wilder days.) She smokes on stage and has a serious affection for black eye makeup. Oh, and let's not forget that she's had some choice words for Miley Cyrus. And while her angst seems to be playing out on a larger stage, we can't help but think that this is just a normal teen identity crisis. It echoes moments from my own teenage years where one part of me wanted to say, "Screw the man" but the other said, "Not too much or you might get in trouble."
Unfortunately for me, that just meant getting in trouble with the parents, not losing a hefty endorsement deal.
