Steal The Look of A Movie Dream House1 of 20
By Robin Sayers
It's all picture-perfect in The Joneses. Demi Moore and David Duchovny star as a gorgeous couple raising two kids in a dream home. But it's actually all just an act. Even if the set-up's fake, the movie sets are spectacular.
Kitchen, TV Room and Dining Room2 of 20
Two-time Oscar nominee Kristi Zea, who served as both Producer and Production Designer, worked with Set Designer Frank Galline to create "a modern, luminous, calm and understated home that is upscale, but not intimidating."
Kitchen Barstools3 of 20
The Joneses opted for the clear version of this chic acrylic H. Studio Zoom Barstool, $1150, but it comes in 12 colors. And then there are the seats —literally, you've got hundreds of options. Call 800-242-8992 to order.
Living Room Pillows4 of 20
Zea wanted items that were neutral, so the palette was as monochromatic as possible — allowing the actors to stand out. Crate & Barrel pillows (ornate but not bold) fit the bill.
BUY NOW: Crate & Barrel's Cherry Blossom Pillow, $70
TV Room Accent5 of 20
It may be less than a foot tall, but this adorable bone china sculpture is something of a scene stealer in the TV room. The Villeroy & Boch Marlene Accessories Gazelle, $40, is available for special order by calling 800-845-5376.
TV Room Tray6 of 20
Nothing conveys instant Art Deco flair more than something covered in mirrors, as is the case with Z Gallerie's glamorous Mirage Tray, $80. It's displayed on the coffee table in the Joneses' TV room. Call 800-908-6748 to order.
TV Room Coasters7 of 20
These four coasters (which come in a matching holder) are that rare thing in home decor: something that's both masculine (studs, brown) and feminine (croc pattern and polished finish).
BUY NOW: Z Gallerie's Biscayne Coaster Set, $20
Dining Room Tray Table8 of 20
This chic little number features zebra wood veneer and a brushed nickel finish, plus the top pops off for use elsewhere.
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen Modern Tray Table, $469
Dining Room Hanging Lamp9 of 20
The movie was filmed in Atlanta. Local stores C Lighting and The Lighting Loft loaned fixtures, including this mid-century classic — a marvel of fiberglass and wire.
BUY NOW: George Nelson Saucer Lamp, $270-1400 (four sizes)
Bedroom10 of 20
Most furniture in Mr. and Mrs. Jones' bedroom was provided by Ethan Allen; the drapes and bedding were custom made by area specialists. (Ignore those black rugs; they're just there to keep the carpet pristine until the cameras start rolling).
Bedroom Bed11 of 20
Mrs. Jones supposedly had the heavier hand in decorating the couple's swank bedroom. While it's not overtly girlie, the duo's marital bed seems a tad more "hers" than "his." Bravo!
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen's Modern Glamour Bryant bed, from $1800
Bedroom Dresser12 of 20
Take your pick: Art Deco, 1930s, Old Hollywood glamour. Any or all of those three terms could describe the vibe of the bedroom, or even this piece on its own.
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen's Modern Glamour single dresser, $1050
Bedroom Lamp13 of 20
This bedside illuminator is covered in shell, adding to the "pearly," "luminous" and "glowing" look Zea was going for. Can't you practically hear those ocean waves lulling you to sleep?
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen's Oblong Shell lamp, $780
Bedroom Chair & Ottoman14 of 20
If this film was shot in black-and-white, you'd swear this chair was ripped straight out of a 1930s movie classic. We love the mix of vintage styles and high-tech gadgetry.
Bedroom Accent15 of 20
You might think you don't need an off-white sculpture of a perennial thistle in your bedroom, and you know what? You're right; you don't. But it's so kooky fabulous. You know you want it! Call 800-908-6748 to order Z Gallerie's Ceramic Artichoke,$20.
Living Room and Dining Room16 of 20
Zea and Galline worked with Allison Robin, a product placement expert. She proved invaluable in making all spaces in the Joneses' home look both believable and to-die-for, including the formal living room seen here.
Dining Room Table17 of 20
Galline refers to this piece as the family's "breakfast table." Imagine the fake Joneses gathering around this glass-and-leather beauty, drinking coffee and arguing over whose Eggo is whose.
BUY NOW: Bova Dorine Dining Table, $700
Living Room Mirror18 of 20
When you're as good-looking a bunch as the Joneses, of course you're going to want a mirror in the living room — in every room, for that matter! This one has an antique-y patina finish.
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen Rosette wall mirror, $470
Living Room Accent Table19 of 20
Zea and Galline deftly mixed elements from across the design spectrum. Seeing this jazzy little piece on its own, you might not picture it working so well — yet, it seems to fit in perfectly.
BUY NOW: Ethan Allen Nickel Accent Table, $390
Living Room Table Lamp20 of 20
You see variations of this type of lamp here and there, but this one is legit. It's real crystal, which of course means it's heavy; but when the light hits it, prepare to be dazzled.
