A Pink Drink to Honor Breast Cancer Fighters and Survivors

In honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, event planner David Tutero has created a just-for-Glo drink to complement all the pink we're wearing in support of the cause.

Both bitter and sweet, “Blushing Lady” reflects the current state of our breast cancer fight: While we celebrate the increasing number of survivors — 2.5 million in the U.S. alone — we also recognize that aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is still the second-most-common cancer among women, highlighting the need for more research in the field.

Whip up some “Blushing Lady,” invite pals over, and talk about what you can do on a national, local or even personal level to help fight all women's cancers. After all, our best advocates are ourselves.

“Blushing Lady”

1 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur

2 oz. Vodka

1 oz. Pink Grapefruit Juice

Lemon Wedge

Coarse sugar, for garnish

Rub a wedge of lemon around the rim of a martini glass and dip the glass into a plate of coarse sugar. Set it aside. Pour the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the garnished martini glass.

David Tutera is the host of WE's My Fair Wedding. PAMA is liqueur made with pomegranate juice, vodka and a touch of tequila.

  • We love a drink that celebrates a good cause.
