Hump Day Happy Hour
Happy Birthday to Us!By Julie Fishman
Thanks to the support of fans like you, Glo turns one year old today. We're gonna party like e-zine rock stars and suggest you do the same. Hold up a glass of this week's nectarous nip, courtesy of Bar Toscana, and toast to many more years of Glo.
Juicy and sparkly, the “Puccini” is a big step up from your everyday mimosa or Bellini. With not just tangerine but also a touch of pear and melon, this crisp, clean libation has a dry finish that'll make you crave another sip. Were this cocktail's namesake still alive, he could write an entire opera on the deliciousness of this drink.
“Puccini” pairs well with seafood and Glo, so why not throw some shrimp on the barbie, catch up on your reading and hold a one-woman gala in honor of our one-year milepost (and your awesomeness for helping us get there).
2 oz fresh squeezed tangerine juice
½ oz Mandarine Napoleon
3 oz Prosecco Valdobbiadene
Dry tangerine wheel for garnish
Directions: Gently stir all ingredients together and serve in a chilled saucer glass. Garnish with a dry tangerine wheel on the rim.
Cocktail courtesy of William Perbellini, bar manager at Bar Toscana in Los Angeles.
