A Truth Serum for The Royal Wedding and National Honesty Day

While honesty is often the best policy, nearly everyone's guilty of stretching or fabricating info from time to time. Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth this Saturday in honor of National Honesty Day, a holiday created to make all of us more aware of our tall tale tendencies.

Ironically, National Honesty Day falls on Will and Kate's wedding weekend. We hope that unlike royal couples of the past, these two recognize that when it comes to marriage, candor is key. Whether that candor is inspired by drink or dignity is totally up to them, but we think they should pour “Two Sides to Every Story,” a drink made for Glo by the bartenders at Appleton Estate Rum, at their reception regardless.

Often called a truth serum, alcohol may help them (and you) enjoy a fib-free weekend and “Two Sides to Every Story” is perfect for channeling one's inner Honest Abe. Serve the cocktail to your man and learn the real reason he dislikes your favorite shirt or signature dish.

“Two Sides to Every Story”

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz Appleton Estate Rum

¼ oz lemon juice

¼ oz honey syrup

¼ oz Grand Marnier

Ginger beer

Lime (sliced into wheels)

Directions: Shake and strain all ingredients except the ginger beer over fresh ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel.

  • Honestly, we can't wait to watch Will and Kate's wedding.
