Baz Luhrmann's latest film promises to be a visual stunner—Leonardo DiCaprio playing Gatsby is just icing on the cake. The movie may be set during the flapper era, but true to form, Luhrman chose a modern soundtrack with tracks from the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce and will.i.am.
Clean Up Your Room Day6 of 14
Spruce up your space in honor of this national occasion. The best place to start: with making your bed. According to a survey of 68,000 people, those who made their bed each morning were more likely to be happy than non-bed-makers.

We know, we know: Every day is Mother's Day. But just in case you haven't told your mom how much she means to you in a while, here's your opportunity to do it. A thoughtful gift never hurt either.
"Inferno" Arrives8 of 14
Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, releases his newest book Inferno today. The release date is no accident. It's a clue to the book's plot. "It is written 5-14-13, which read backwards 3.1415—the value of pi,” Suzanne Herz, a Doubleday senior vice president, told The Wall Street Journal in April. Let the sleuthing begin.

The film festival hits the French Riviera this week as 19 films vie for the coveted Palme d'Or. The Great Gatsby is set as the opener even though it's not in the running for an award. "American Idol" Finale Begins10 of 14
America crowns its 12th Idol tonight as part of a two-part series. As much as we've enjoyed the talented male performances, we definitely like the girl power that's made it to the finals. The guys' winning streak over the past five seasons was in need of a shake-up.

The wait is over. After all the media buildup, complete with mysterious 15-second commercials and Coachella Jumbotron teasers, Daft Punk is finally releasing their fourth studio album, Random Access Memories.
