Say "Om…"1 of 13
Yoga can help stretch your body and calm your mind. But one hallmark of this ancient practice is that it can—and should be—tailored to your unique needs. This is where astrology comes in: Your zodiac sign can help you pick a posture that best suits your temperament. Read on to discover your horoscope sign's power pose!

Aries2 of 13
Warrior 1 seems custom-made for Aries, a hero who is always ready for battle and whose pioneering spirit pushes them to be first.
How to: Stand tall with your right foot about three feet in font of your left foot. Your right foot should point toward the front of your mat. Turn your left toes about 45 to 60 degrees to the left, but make sure the heels of your feet are aligned. Bend your right knee over your ankle and square your pelvis so it's parallel to the front of your mat. Lift your arms into the sky. Hold for 60 seconds, and then perform the pose on the other side.
Taurus3 of 13
Here's a pose that's not only named after Taurus' astrological totem, but also honors this sign's slow and steady rhythm.
How to: Get on your hands and knees, so both your hands and shins are on your mat, your back is flat, your neck is in a neutral position and your eyes point at the floor. As you inhale, lift your chest, head and sit bones to the sky while dropping your belly toward the floor—this should create a gentle arch in your back. Look straight ahead for several seconds. Exhale as you return to a neutral tabletop position. Repeat 12 times.
Gemini4 of 13
Communicative Gemini spends a lot of time hunched over the computer, so Cobra—and its shoulder- and chest-opening benefits—should be right up this sign's alley.
How to: Lay facedown on your mat with the tops of your feet touching the floor. Place your hands on the floor next to your chest, positioning your elbows close to your body. Keeping your pubic bone, legs and feet rooted into the floor, press through your palms, lifting your chest in a slight backward arc, but don't let your shoulders creep up toward your ears. Stay in the pose for up to 30 seconds.
Cancer5 of 13
This gentle inversion pose is well suited to the Crab's sensitive nature. Plus, it helps circulate energy to the stomach (as well as other parts), which Cancer rules.
How to: Sit on the floor with one side of your body next to a wall. Recline so you are in a modified fetal position. Pivot your body so that your back is against the floor, and swing your legs up onto the wall. Your legs should be straight, your calves resting on the wall and feet pointed toward the ceiling. Shift your butt so that it's as close to the wall as possible. Relax with your eyes closed for several minutes.
Leo6 of 13
Yes, this pose is named after Leo's cosmic mascot. To boot, it ignites both the joy and courage that lives in every Lion's heart.
How to: Kneel on the floor. Your heels should face upward and be pressed against your buttocks. Place your palms on your knees with your fingers spread. Inhale through your nose, then exhale through your mouth, opening it wide. Stick out your tongue, while loudly making an "aaahh" sound (think of it as your roar!). At the same time, look up, gently focusing your eyes on the bridge of your nose. Repeat several times.
Virgo7 of 13
If anyone can respect a pose that's simple yet honors precision, it's Virgo. Not to mention, its soothing qualities may just calm Virgo's busy mind.
How to: Sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you. Pushing the backs of your legs into the floor, flex your feet. On an inhale, lengthen your torso and slowly bend forward at your hips. See if you can grab your shins or the outsides of your feet while pointing your gaze at your toes. With each inhalation, try to deepen the stretch. Stay in the pose for one to two minutes.
Libra8 of 13
Libra inherently feels drawn toward balance, and this pose presents a way to practice and strengthen it.
How to: Sit with your knees bent and feet on the floor. Holding the back of your lower thighs with your hands, lift your sternum and lean your torso back slightly. Gently roll back so that your feet lift off the floor, and you're balancing on your sitting bones. Shift your shins so they're parallel to the floor, or try to straighten your legs. If you can, straighten your arms, pointing your fingertips towards your feet and your palms toward the floor. Try to hold the pose for a minute.
Scorpio9 of 13
A match for intense Scorpios, this challenging pose may help alleviate tension in the pelvic region, the area of the body governed by the Scorpion.
How to: Squat with your feet close together. If your heels don't rest comfortably on the floor, support them on a folded mat. Lean forward, and separate your thighs a little wider than your torso. Pressing your elbows against your inner thighs, bring your palms together. Go deeper into the pose by stretching your arms forward and swinging them around the outside of your legs, reaching your hands for the backs of your ankles.
Sagittarius10 of 13
This expansive pose requires gazing toward the horizon, something that Sagittarius is inclined to do.
How to: Stand with your feet about four feet apart, and your right foot in front of your left. Point your right foot toward the front of the mat, and turn out your left foot 45 to 60 degrees to the left. With your heels in line, bend your right knee so your shin is perpendicular to the floor. Outstretch your left arm forward and your right arm behind you with your palms facing down. Gaze over the top of your left fingers. Hold the pose for about a minute, repeat it on the other side.
Capricorn11 of 13
Steadfast mountain pose is the perfect yoga posture for Capricorn, the pragmatic mountain goat.
How to: Stand tall with your big toes touching and your heels slightly apart. Engage your quad muscles and lengthen your tailbone towards the floor. Press your shoulders down, lengthen your neck, and rest your arms at your side. Feel that strong line of energy from your feet to the crown of your head as you stretch your head towards the sky.
Aquarius12 of 13
Ideal for the sign that oversees the calves and ankles, this classic pose stretches and promotes circulation to the lower legs.
How to: Place your knees and hands on the floor, with your knees below your hips and your wrists in front of your shoulder. Spread your fingers wide with your middle digits pointing straight ahead. Gently push your knees away from the floor as you straighten your legs (don't lock your knees). With your sitting bones lifted, try to press your heels into the floor. Draw your shoulder blades down your back as your head rests between your arms.
Pisces13 of 13
In addition to stretching the Pisces-ruled feet, this relaxing posture is said to stimulate the third eye, the seat of our psychic abilities, which fits this intuitive sign.
How to: Kneel on the floor with your knees together and the tops of your feet touching the floor. Resting your buttocks on your heels, bend forward so your torso rests on your thighs and your forehead is on your mat. Either extend your arms straight out in front of you or place them by your sides with your palms facing up next to your feet. Stay here for one to two minutes.
